Module Score
The “Module Score” module calculates scores using SeekOne prebuilt feature gene sets as well as any custom sets you define, helping you evaluate key signatures and their correlations within gene expression data.
NOTE
Prioritize feature sets that align closely with your analysis objective, and configure grouping factors appropriately to keep Module Score results robust and interpretable.
Module Score
Feature Sets
- Select the appropriate Species.
- Click the Gene Set search box to open the selection dialog, which lists SeekOne prebuilt feature sets and custom workflow sets. Choose the set you need.
- Enter a Name.
- Click Submit to generate Module Score results.
- When you submit a single feature set, Module Score displays the results as a violin plot. In the results panel, you can pick a different Group by and use the interactive plotting controls, then click Submit to refine the figure.
- When you submit two or more feature sets, Module Score presents the results as a DotPlot. You can still select alternative Group by within the results panel, leverage the interactive plotting controls, and click Submit to optimize the visualization.
Custom Gene Sets
- Enter a Name.
- Provide the Gene associated with the feature set.
- Click Submit to obtain Module Score results. In the results panel, you can choose other Group by, use the interactive Visualisation, and click Submit to fine-tune the chart.
TIP
When building custom feature sets, rely on gene combinations supported by the literature to keep Module Score findings scientifically sound.
Visualize in the Visualisation
Module Score outputs—whether a violin plot for a single feature set or a DotPlot for multiple sets—can be further refined and analyzed in the “Visualisation”
For example, you can:
- Adjust chart colors, titles, and font sizes.
- Combine Module Score values with other metadata (such as cell type or sample origin) for integrated visualization.
- Export high-resolution figures for publication.
